Money

Monopoly is a game
We play when we are young.
Learning the tricks of money.
When we lose we hide and run.

But when money is reality
There is no place to hide.
Your balance fluctuates
Like a surfer's tide.

Budgeting is not taught
When we are naïve at school.
Try to stay in the black
That is a general rule.

It helps you sleep at night,
Enjoy your peaceful kip.
You say it is not important
But I'd like to see you live without it.

Coins of gold,
Or one hundred dollar notes,
They allow you to buy life's luxurious,
Many houses or boats.

Work as hard as you can
And do what you do best,
Stay dedicated,
And you'll do better than the rest

So when you are poor
And believe your life to be hell,
Save and buy an investment property,
And eventually sell.
